On March 16, 2016 the 2nd National Prayer Breakfast was hosted by CBMC Finland in Helsinki at the Hotel Hilton Kalastajatorppa. The gathering of more than 500 were encouraged through music, prayers, Bible reading and the sharing of encouraging remarks.
Participants included Sari Essayah and Sauli Ahvenjarvi, Members of the Finnish Parliament; Saku Pitkanen, Chairman of the International Christian Chamber of Commerce; and Timo Soini, Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs. Greetings were brought by Paula Risikko, Second Deputy Speaker in the Finnish Parliament and Urmas Reinsalu, Estonian Minister of Justice. Musical performances by the Kuiske Choir, Vilja Riutamaa and Risto Kyro were a blessing.
Guests included Mr. Antero Laukkanen, Member of Parliament Mr. Jukka Makela, Mayor of the City of Espoo. Many groups were in attendance including guests from Norway, Germany, The Netherlands, and the USA.
After breakfast a Values Forum was held which covered the following topics: 1) Can a State be the Good Samaritan?; 2) Experiences and Changes, the German Experience; and 3) Changes and the Future, the Finnish Experience.
