About This Event

CBMC Hawaiʻi invites couples to its first ʻOhana Marriage Retreat, a weekend set apart to strengthen the most important human relationship a marketplace leader has.

Men in business give their best hours to the work. The deal gets defended. The quarter gets protected. Marriage often receives whatever energy is left at the end of the day. Nobody sets out for that to happen. It happens anyway, one busy season at a time.

This retreat exists to interrupt that drift.

Couples from across Hawaiʻi will gather on the windward shore of Oʻahu for two nights of biblical teaching, honest conversation, encouragement, and uninterrupted time together. The setting is quiet. The pace is slow. The purpose is serious.

Most people still know Tim as “Judge.” He served more than fourteen years as a Family Court Judge in Lexington, Kentucky, before retiring in 2018, spending his professional life helping families navigate their most consequential relationships with wisdom and compassion.

Sue is the daughter of Methodist missionaries and spent much of her childhood in the Belgian Congo.

Tim and Sue have been married for more than fifty years. They bring a testimony of endurance, faithfulness, grace, and perseverance, and they continue to invest in marriages and families across the country from their home in Loxley, Alabama.
