Two and a half years ago, in a quiet café in Saigon, Dr. Hoang Anh bowed her head in prayer. She wasn’t praying for herself. She wasn’t asking for success, comfort, or personal blessing. No, her prayers were for the men and women of the marketplace—those who did not yet know the beauty of Christ, and those who, though they called Him Lord, had yet to taste the fullness of a life surrendered to Him.
For months, she prayed. Sometimes she sat alone. Other times, one other would join her. Always, there were tears—tears for a nation that had long struggled under the weight of war, ideology, and spiritual hunger. And always, there was hope—a quiet but unrelenting belief that God could breathe life into what had lain dormant for years.
Today, that hope has taken form. CBMC Vietnam, once just a prayer whispered in faith, has now been recognized with the CBMC International President’s Award for Excellence in Ministry Growth. More than 200 members. Over a dozen thriving chapters. A movement of marketplace believers—mature Christians, young professionals, new converts, couples, and singles—who are living as salt and light in a nation where the Gospel has often been suppressed. From Ho Chi Minh City to the newly launched chapter in Hanoi, they are stepping forward, not merely as participants in history, but as active builders in God’s Kingdom.
This is not just organizational success. This is a parable unfolding before our eyes. Just as Christ once took a few loaves and fishes and fed thousands, He has taken the prayers of a few and multiplied them beyond what anyone could have imagined. The rebirth of CBMC in Vietnam is a testimony to the faithfulness of God, the power of prayer, and the quiet obedience of a woman who refused to stop believing that He would move.
Let us celebrate—not just a ministry revived, but a God who delights in doing the impossible. The Gospel is rising in a land that once knew war, division, and scarcity. And once again, He is multiplying. Praise the Lord, from whom all blessings flow!
