“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8 (ESV)

Jesus didn’t give His followers a small map. He gave them the world. From your city to the nations, the mission is the same—be His witness everywhere.

In late July, CBMC Oklahoma took that call literally, linking arms with CBMC Ghana in a partnership that’s part of CBMC International’s larger push to connect ministries across the world for multiplied impact and mutual encouragement. This wasn’t a polite gesture or a photo-op. It was a strategic move to drive the Gospel deeper into the marketplace and carry it further into the nations.

Ghana wasn’t a random pick. Strong, faithful leaders are already in place. Several Oklahoma City–based ministries are actively serving there. And donor relationships connect both cities. It’s a Kingdom alignment too intentional to overlook.

Shoulder to Shoulder in the Field

Oklahoma City Area Director Brent Vawter spent a week with eight Ghanaian CBMC leaders. They swapped stories of God’s work in their markets, shared ministry approaches, and drilled down on donor development, leader training, and member engagement. They prayed. They planned. They encouraged one another.

This wasn’t tourism; it was two teams discovering they’re part of the same army, advancing on the same mission from opposite sides of the Atlantic.

A Gospel Frontline in Accra

The trip built toward an outreach event in Accra. Professionals from across the region gathered to hear how God is using ordinary men and women to reach the lost and strengthen believers in the workplace. Testimonies sparked vision. Conversations forged new connections. The room carried a sense that something lasting had begun.

This wasn’t just an event. It was a Kingdom outpost planted in the heart of the marketplace.

What’s Next

The work is already moving forward. More visits. Stronger collaboration. A shared mission to reach, equip, and deploy generations of professionals who will live out their faith where they work and multiply their impact for Christ.

Acts 1:8 isn’t theory in Oklahoma or Ghana—it’s happening. Same mission. Same Gospel. Same Spirit empowering the work to the ends of the earth.
